Product Description
Docetaxel is a chemotherapy medication used to treat a number of types of cancer. This includes breast cancer, head and neck cancer, stomach cancer, prostate cancer and non-small-cell lung cancer and others. It may be used by itself or along with other chemotherapy medications. Docetaxel binds specifically to the beta-tubulin subunit of microtubules and thereby antagonizes the disassembly of the microtubule proteins. This results in the persistence of aberrant microtubule structures and results in cell-cycle arrest and subsequent cell death. RTU (ready-to-use) is defined as an injection containing the active drug in solution at the required concentration and volume in a vial. The injection is transferred to a final container (syringe, infusion pump or elastomeric device) for administration to the patient.
